What to tell the photographer before the wedding
1. DRESS CODE
Do you want the photographer to attend your wedding in the background and not draw extra attention to himself? Let him or her know your dress code wishes. This will help the professional think through your wardrobe in advance so that you don't stand out from the rest, and feel comfortable with guests dressed in a certain style.
2. TIMING AND PLANNED SURPRISES
The photographer is not involved in the organizational issues, so he or she may not know what time the first dance of the bride and groom or some interesting competition at the banquet is scheduled. To make sure the professional doesn't miss any important moments for you, warn him or her about them!
3. OBLIGATORY SHOTS
If you don't want to find out that your wedding album doesn't include a photo with your beloved grandmother or a snapshot of some important decorative details, make sure to let your photographer know your wishes in advance. No matter how great a professional he is, he can't read your mind and doesn't know what's important to you. But don't control every step of the professional, leave him and yourself room for creativity and spontaneity!
