1. ATTENTION TO THE POSTURE...
We all remember that during the shooting you need to remember about your posture, and often many start to straighten their backs unnaturally and stiffen in the shoulders. An easy way to avoid this, but also not to slouch on the photo - to think not about the back and shoulders, but about the back of your head! Try to pull the neck up as long as possible, and the posture will immediately become haughty, the neck longer, and the second chin less evident.
2. ... AND TO THE SHOULDERS
Take your shoulders back - due to this, the chest will open, and the shoulders and arms in the photo will seem more elegant.
3. EXPRESSIVE GLANCE
The glance is the most important thing in the portrait. To get a strong, expressive glance, try to solve some arithmetic problem in your mind - this will give the portrait a more “dramatic” look. No matter how funny it sounds, it works!
4. SMILE WITH YOUR EYES
If you want more tender and feminine portraits, feel free to follow the advice of Tyra Banks - "smile" with your eyes. Being in front of the camera, forget about the need to quickly complete portrait shooting and hurry on business.
Pleasant thoughts and emotions are a pledge of tender, serene portraits. Think about something pleasant, imagine a smile, but try not to smile at the same time. This is not an easy task, but in the end you will get a very expressive, warm and attractive look on the portrait.
5. WHAT TO DO WITH HANDS?
The gentle, well-groomed hands of a young girl are in themselves a great subject for shooting. I love to shoot hands - both as detailed pictures and “with hands” portraits. Try to keep your hands asymmetrically, it will give you more relaxed and natural appearence in the photos.
Try not to strain your fingers and hands, and if you feel tension in your fingers, squeeze a fist with force and sharply unclench - this will help to relax them.
What to do with your hands? Use them to highlight your strengths, when it comes to portraits. For example, if you thoughtfully touch your chin with your hand, this gesture will attract additional attention to your lips, and if you sit in a chair and support your head with your hand near the temple, then attention will shift to your eyes.
6. NATURAL POSES
Do not press your hands to the body, so they will look more elegant. You can raise the hem of the dress, touch your neck, fold your arms on the arm of the sofa or chair, if you are posing sitting.
7. HOW TO LOOK SLIMMER?
And, finally, the well-known life hack, that allows you to get slimmer and sleeker in the photo: turn tree quarters to the camera and transfer the body weight to the far leg.
